Best Answer: I have successfully connected an old (2001) Sony DCR-PC110 Mini-DV camcorder to my MacBook Pro 2016 via a Thunderbolt / Firewire chain. I used the following adapters to connect the Sony's 1394 / Mini-DV connection to MacBook Pro USB-C: Apple Thunderbolt 3 [USB-C] to Thunderbolt 2 [Mini DisplayPort] (MMEL2AM/A) --> Apple Thunderbolt 2 [Mini DisplayPort] to Firewire 800 [9-Pin] (MD464LL/A) --> Tripp Lite Firewire 800 [9-Pin] to Firewire 400 [4-Pin, 1394] (F019-006). All in about $90. I was able to control the camcorder and capture video from Mini-DV tapes. This chain may work for other Firewire 400/800 peripherals. • Answered by Greg F from Bristol • Sep 8, 2017 • •. Yesterday I ordered a 'Goobay 2.0 fast Ethernet network converter' so I could connect my MacBook Air (130inch 2017) version 10.14 to the ethernet cable.

Thinking it would be easy I went into system preferences -> Network -> '+' but I didn't find anything that confirmed that it found a new connection. When I went into 'About this Mac' -> System Report -> USB, it told me the USB was connected, I also know that my cable works because it worked on my brother's PC (Running windows). If anyone could help me that would be greatly appreciated.

I am writing this message because I got my 16Gb wifi ipad about a month ago and I'm using it with great content. However, for some reason the space in my iPad is decreasing and decreasing.

P.S; If you need more info about the Mac I'm using please aks in the comments and I'll edit it in. • Asked by Luuk D • Oct 25, 2018 •. Best Answer: Ah yes.the ‘spinning beachball of death’. 1st thing, don’t panic! When you see the color wheel it means that the computer is ‘thinking’ or, more accurately, attempting or trying to execute your command. A few things can cause the color wheel but the most common one is insufficient RAM memory installed in your Mac. You can check the amount of RAM memory installed by clicking on the Apple menu on the upper left corner of the Mac’ screen.

Then select ‘About this Mac’. While most Mac operating systems will work (adequately) with 4 GB of RAM, if your Mac permits the installation of more RAM, you might consider doing so. It’s easy to install and inexpensive as well. The additional RAM will let your Mac ‘breath’ a bit easier and you should see fewer beachballs. If you have 8GB or more of RAM and are still getting spinning beachballs, try closing some of the open applications.

Wierd that it works fine with Droid over port 443. Currently using Jabber for Windows, iPhone and MAC. Fails authentication, I have opened ports 143/7993 to allow IMAP, but no luck. Can make and recieve calls but unable to get Visual Voicemail working on any of the devicesor clients. From what I understand we are using a Hybrid WebEx config where we have cloud based WebEx solution which is providing our Presence. Using visual voicemail in cisco jabber for mac.

Even with sufficient RAM if you’ve got 6 or more apps running at the same time, that’s going to dramatically slow the computer down (and you’ll see the wheel). • Answered by Dru R from Richardson • May 17, 2017 • •.

Make Quick Look even cooler Surely you’ve used the Finder’s Quick Look to see a document or image up close on the fly without having to open the associated app. (You do this by simply hitting the space bar when you have a file or files highlighted in the Finder.) Even cooler? Stand for mac. Getting a full-screen slideshow, complete with available index sheet, by hitting Option-space bar with several files selected.
